Furry Weekend Atlanta is a fast-growing anthropomorphics exposition located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The convention runs every March. In 2004, Furry Weekend Atlanta welcomed 270 people to the dogwood city for the inaugural year of the convention. In the most recent year, 2010, 1,564 people attended Furry Weekend Atlanta. The convention works hard to maintain a focus on the fans by providing a slate of premiere programming along with new, innovative original ideas in the tradition of Southern Hospitality.
Furry Weekend Atlanta is produced by Furry Weekend Atlanta, Inc., a non-profit corporation, organized pursuant to the Georgia Non-Profit Corporation Code. It is headed by an Executive Committee and tasked with providing high-quality education and entertainment for our attendees in a safe and fun environment, and promoting the acceptance and appreciation of the anthropomorphic fandom in the Southeast and throughout the country as a whole.
This is an official community of Furry Weekend Atlanta. In the spirit of fostering a feeling of community among our attendees, this is an open community which we tend to take a light touch on when it comes to moderation. However, we do have a few rules we ask you to abide by:
1) Please don't post anything defaming or demeaning any individual or organization. 2) Please check the Furry Weekend Atlanta FAQ before asking questions. 3) If you have a complaint or concern, please contact the convention directly rather than posting in this community. 4) Please don't spam the community with irrelevant or inappropriate advertisement. 5) Please don't post an excessive number of pictures, or excessively large pictures, unless they are behind an LJ-cut.
